I volunteered in Scotland with Project Trust. Project Trust are a charity that send volunteers overseas primarily to teach younger children through different mediums. These include conventional classroom teaching, social care and outward bound projects. The project is all about what you can offer to a different communtiy to better their lives, and enrich your own life through the experience, providing you with a range of life skills that you can apply wherever you go. Our volunteering in Scotland was great fun; we helped out some of the locals of the Isle of Coll with some manual tasks, mainly digging, as well as some indoor activities such as teaching and presenting. Before I arrived I stayed in Youth Hostel in Oban, but staying with a host family in Coll was a great part of the trip as I learnt so much about the island from them, and had the chance to play some football with the 4 young boys after my voltuneering! Overall, I real worthwhile experience and I can't wait to get back there in the summer!
