Protecting Birds in an Scotish reserve
Lovers of open air and birds, Scotland open its doors for you to help preserving different birds’ habitats.
The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) has been running a Residential Volunteering program you can join and the Wave of Friendship can help you with an up-to-£500 bursary for your expenses (travel and food). Accommodation is free though!
There are diverse reserves/projects within the RSPB Residential Scheme and there’s something for everyone even not being a bird expert:
· Habitat management for those who want to get down and dirty
· Estate maintenance and repair – great for the DIY enthusiast
· People engagement for you chatty folk to enhance the experience of visitors
· Surveying of birds, insects, mammals – this specialist help is always needed
· Protection and monitoring for those of us that can sit for Scotland
