Background

I graduated from Hull University and began working locally in the community and voluntary sector with excluded and hard to reach groups. After which I spent a number of years living and teaching in Beijing travelling to and returning from China overland. These experiences inform who I am and how I respond in a diverse and multi-cultural environment. This is the environment within which I live and it is the environment within which I wish to act. On my return from overseas I moved to the borough of Hackney. Whilst working and studying I volunteer in the following roles with particular interest in community and voluntary sector working in and around the Criminal Justice System. I act as :

Project worker defining and developing a project to support ex-offenders and mental health service users in volunteering through Volunteer Centre.

Independant Custody Visitor for the Borough of Hackney.
Night Shift Volunteer at Hackney Winter Night Shelter for rough Sleepers.

I am about to begin an Msc in Community and voluntary sector Studies at Birkbeck College and keep the following new media platforms up to date with new ideas and developments in the sector and around my areas of interest.
