Feis Phiobaireachd agus Drumaireachd 2011

Feis na h-Oige is a voluntary group who support kids aged 8 - 18 in traditional music, song and crafts through the medium of Gaelic. We have been on the go since 1992 and hold various events through the year with our main event Feis (fesitval) held during the summer holidays. We thought that we would introduce a residential element hence Feis Phiobaireachd agus Drummaireachd 2011.

The residential weekend will be at Badaguish (Aviemore) in 3 woodland chalets where we can make as much noise as we want - and we will when the pipes and drums are going full pelt.

We have 17 kids aged 10 - 15 attending from all over the North, the tutors have good "craic" as well as being very talented musically, karen and Dougie (Supervisors) are big kids at heart and will bring a lot of laughter to the activites and of course all of this will be fuelled by Fiona our chief cook and bottle washer.

The planned weekend will be filled with fun fun fun and the kids will meet new friends, catch up with some old friends and learn new skills musically alongside canoeing and mountain biking.

The kids are looking forward to the time away and I am sure the parents are equally delighted.......

This could not have happened without the support of People Making Waves who have helped us to acheive our 2nd event of this type and allow us to continue on the path of our aim to have Pipe Band that is made up of Gaelic speakers. taing mhor - people making waves.
