Friday, 10th September in the Orkney Street Business Centre was stage 2 in a series of incrementally growing conversations in the series known as "A Govan Wave of Change"

January was the first event - a small gathering of 15 local third sector organisations who shared stories and passions.
September 10th was our "mid scale" event where the participant base was broadened to include community residents, private and public sector representatives.
Facilitated by Fablevision, and benefiting from the wonderful skills of story teller Wendy Woolfson, participants (30 in all throughout the morning but coming and going in a typical series of Govan Waves) explored their dreams.
We chose objects with personal memories attached to them and we shared those memories with other participants
This exercise opened our hearts and minds to the possibilities for the future of Govan - our commitment to it, the part we have to play in it and a real sense of neighbourliness began to take shape in the room.
Friday, September 10th 2010 was a special morning of exploration, discovery and spirituality. Inspired by the likes of local minister Monya McGlynn and the chair of the local community council, we were able to recreate our own future Govan - a Govan which is more than just bricks and mortar/concrete and renovated buildings. Where we created was a Govan with it's own sense of community, caring and sharing - the kind of Govan we all want to live in in the future.

The 10th of September was stage 2 of A Govan Wave of Change
Stage 3 is scheduled for Saturday, 23rd October between 11am and 2.30pm.
It will take place in that iconic Govan landmark building - our own Pearce Institute - owned and loved by the people of Govan - whoever we may be
Whether we live here, work here or are simply interested in the future of an important historical area of Glasgow, we are ALL welcome to come along and participate.

A Govan Wave of Change, occurring as it does as part of A Scottish Wave of Change, gives the people of Govan a unique opportunity to influence Government thinking and policy.
