Pit Stop Makes a Splash!
The Pitstop Youth Café was established by members of the community in 1996.
Our aims are to
Divert young people away from untoward behaviour, aid their social, personal and educational development and enhance young people's physical and mental well being.
Our core activities is to provide young people with a drop in provison to aid their social and persoanl development and to develop specific projects based on needs, concerns and interests.
Our evening drop in service works with young people aged 11-21, providing 4 evening sessions per week. Within the drop in sessions young people are offered guidance and support. Young people take part in a number of social activities including, pool, table tennis, large screen games consoles, outdoor activities and small art activities. While at the drop in staff look to identify young people's need, interests and concerns so specific projects can be developed to meet these.
The art classes are delivered every Thursday 5pm-7pm,
Funded by Voluntary Arts Scotland’s Make a Splash! grant scheme - part of People Making Waves, co-ordinated by Volunteer Development Scotland. People Making Waves is part of The Scottish Project, which will create a cultural legacy from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Scotland.
