Grants

Bursaries are available to cover expenses while you volunteer in London or Scotland. Funding is available for groups looking to increase participation in arts and crafts activities long-term.

Wave of Friendship Volunteer Bursaries

The Wave of Friendship has two volunteer bursary programmes that promote and support volunteering. They are:

01 London/Scotland:

bursaries of up to £500 in expenses to encourage volunteering between Scotland and London

02 Scotland only:

bursaries of up to £100 in expenses to encourage volunteers in Scotland to take up a volunteering experience in another part of the country

Expenses cover things like travel, accommodation and food. You can apply as an individual or as a group and pretty much any kind of volunteering is eligible and the application process is very easy.

We've had some great applications so far with people volunteering at the London Youth Games, Edinburgh Moonwalk, British Museum, Notting Hill Carnival and Trees for Life.

I was apprehensive at first going to such a big city alone but the experience really widened my horizons and I met some lovely people. Helping out at the race made me want to take part in one in the future

The visit lived up to everything it could be. I met lots of people and saw grass roots projects doing different things with plenty of success… and did I mention the food and the City?

The experience, moved me, made me cry, educated me, made me laugh, gave me insight, made me aware of things I simply had not known.
