The Leith Hospital Play

ONE PROJECT ENDS AND ANOTHER STARTS! On 28th Oct, Citadel Arts Group launched 'LEITH HOSPITAL RECALLED', an illustrated book of the stories of around 50 people, who shared vivid memories of their much-loved community hospital.  Some had trained and worked there, others had visited relatives, been patched up after major and minor injuries and many raised funds for what Leith people considered to have been their own hospital.

Over 80 people from Leith and beyond crowded into South Leith Church Hall to get their copies of the book, see a documentary about the hospital, and hear a scene from the play Laure Paterson is developing, based on  stories and memories from the book.

See STV Local for a review of the event.

Since the Edinburgh Evening News coverage, Citadel has had enquiries about the book from as far afield as Florida and British Columbia!
